Jesus asks this very pointed question. It’s a question that he asks each of us.
In 2021, Mark and Cheryl Buchanan launched New Story Community on Keats Island. New Story Community is about seeing. It’s about walking alongside. It’s about removing labels, and barriers and hindrances that keep Indigenous women from flourishing. It’s about joining with Creator to write a new story, one of hope, healing, redemption, and flourishing.
Mark and Cheryl will join us this Sunday. Mark will draw from the story of the woman who anoints Jesus's feet with her hair (Luke 7:36-50) to preach a stand-alone sermon, "Do you See this Woman?" Cheryl will share about New Story Community.
Mark Buchanan and Cheryl live in Calgary, Alberta, where Mark is associate professor of Pastoral Theology at Ambrose Seminary. Educated at UBC and Regent College, Mark is a teacher, speaker, and the author of ten books. He has also written numerous articles for Christianity Today, Faith Today, and several other magazines. Previous to Ambrose, Mark was in pastoral ministry for 24 years in British Columbia. They have three adult children. He enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and motorcycles.
