What stood out to you from Sunday’s message?

Summary

Read Ezekiel 37:1-14

For the people in exile, life seemed utterly hopeless. They were separated from God and their home. But no situation is hopeless with the God of resurrection power. By his Word and Spirit, God re-creates his people, bringing life out of death. Ezekiel’s vision teaches us that no situation is hopeless when resurrection is coming.

Discussion Questions

  1. For what purpose was the vision given to Ezekiel? How then should it be applied to our situation?

  2. One of the most important images for salvation is the idea of new creation. What are the implications for us that we are part of God’s work of new creation?

  3. The two means that God uses for resurrection in Ezekiel 37 are the Word (vv.4-8) and the Spirit (vv.9-10). How are these still the means of new life for us today? Are we adequately placing ourselves under the power of the Word and Spirit?

  4. How do we think and feel about death? How should we as God’s resurrection people?

  5. Is there a situation in your life where you are tempted to hopelessness? How can we pray together for the impossible?
